Like many sustainable hotels, we also rely on photovoltaics at the Arlberghaus. Since 2013, the system on our attic has been supplying clean electricity for the entire hotel. Surprisingly, the yields are even highest in the winter months. The flat position of the sun then hits our panels at an optimum angle.
The Arlberghaus has been a customer and shareholder of the Zürs biomass heating plant since it was founded in 2010. Thomas Eggler is one of the proponents of the project and one of the managing directors. He is particularly proud of the fact that up to 1.6 million litres of heating oil are saved every year. Instead of fossil fuels, CO2-neutral wood chips are utilised, which come from a radius of approx. 200 km. The added value thus remains in the region.

Karl Eggler - David's grandfather - was already the chairman of the Zürs water cooperative. Thomas Eggler has been chairman of the Zürs water co-operative since 2000. The water co-operative ensures the best water quality. The best natural mountain water for our guests without any chlorination.
